Self Care Routine for Busy Moms: #1 Importance

Self Care! What’s that?
I Don’t Have Time For That!
I hear this from women all the time. Moms who are doing it all with kids, taking care of the house, career, extracurricular activities and so much more going on. They barely have time to eat let alone sleep. The last thing on their mind is a plan that will help them to do more than take a hot shower everyday. That’s just nonsense talk right there. Haha!!
In all honesty though self care is crucial to not just our mental and emotional health but our physical health too. It may shock you to know but stress is wreaking havoc on our bodies. The daily stress we all have just grown accustom to is opening a window for illness and disease to creep into our lives. Autoimmune diseases are at an all time high and chronic fatigue is a norm. We’re living on caffeine and sugar highs. It has gotten to the point that the average response when someone asks, “How are you doing?” is to say, “Good. Just really busy.” We wear Busy like a Badge of Honor.
We Need To Make a Change
We need to take care of #1 and though us ladies don’t tend to live this way but #1 is YOU. When we take care of ourselves and put our own self care needs first we are the best Mom, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Grandma, Friend we can be to our loved ones. Taking care of ourselves makes us happier, healthier and more vibrant than ever.
I know you’re probably thinking “How? I don’t have time. My sons got basketball practice, my daughters got dance lessons, and my husband works late. Where in the world can I fit time in for myself?”
I totally get it! Developing and implementing all of the different components to a well rounded self care routine may take some time. That’s okay! If you can just take one component and implement it on a regular basis you will be on your way to a happier and healthier you.
Wouldn’t it be nice
To have more energy to keep up with your day without your Starbuck’s, Diet Coke and Monsters? How about getting to the end of the day and not feel like you’ve been hit by a truck? Or to wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and ready to go?
Creating and implementing a well rounded self care routine has the ability to give you the energy you’re craving, reduce your everyday aches and pains (including headaches), and so much more.
Now I ask, if you simply had more energy, less aches and pains could you see how not only you would benefit but your family and friends too? It really helps every area of your life.
