Food Sensitivities and Our Lives Series Part 1: Intro

Food Sensitivities are very common in today’s world
If you are a parent or grandparent you will hear more and more often about kiddos in school who are allergic or sensitive to many more foods than ever before. You use to hear of peanut allergies on occasion, but now entire schools will be peanut free for those with severe allergies. Very often people are dealing with food sensitivities without even realizing their symptoms are being caused by what they are eating. It may not even be viewed as a symptom but a mere inconvenience of sorts.
While I have only physically known that I’ve been dealing with food sensitivities personally for the last couple years, my family has been dealing with food sensitivities for several years. My younger son who is now 10 almost 11 years old has had food sensitivities for a long time. We didn’t realize when he was 2 years old and began to break out in small rashes on his behind and legs that it was being caused by what he was consuming each day. It took us multiple years of treating him with medicine before we tied the symptoms to his nutrition. Then it took more time with elimination diets, doctor visits, and tests before we could pinpoint exactly what he was sensitive to. Then it was a whole other process of figuring out how best to handle those food sensitivities. What he could eat in place of the foods removed and so many other details.
This series is meant to help you navigate through what can be a long and bumpy journey.
